Modding Fallout: New Vegas on Linux Mint with Amethyst

Playing New Vegas on Linux Mint has been surprisingly easy. Minor hiccup setting it up with a mod manager, but mostly smooth sailing.

My current setup:

• OS: Linux Mint 22.3 Xfce 64-bit
• Game: Fallout: New Vegas from GOG
• Mod manager: Amethyst

The basic steps:

1. Use the Heroic Game Launcher to install Fallout: New Vegas.
2. In Amethyst, add the game.
3. On the Amethyst game configuration screen, under "Proton prefix", make sure the the Proton prefix field points to the game's Prefix folder. Should be something like this: /home/username/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition

A Proton prefix is a folder where the game is set up as if it were installed on Windows for compatibility. That's what threw me at first, because I didn't know what Amethyst was asking for. Now I know.
