Different Ways to Add Totals to a Table in Tableau

To add totals and subtotals to a table that contains dimensions (such as "Category" and Sub-Category") and a measure (such as "Sales"):

• Row totals: Select Analysis > Show Row Grand Totals.
• Column totals: Select Analysis > Show Column Grand Totals.
• Subtotals: Select Analysis > Totals > Add All Subtotals.

Alternatively:

1. Select the Analytics tab.
2. Select Totals and drag it to the view. Select the totals option you want (Subtotals, Column Grant Totals, and Row Grand Totals).
