Squidoo:
I have been building Squidoo lenses since June 2007; at the moment I have over 100 lenses. Two of my lenses were chosen as Lens of the Day. I’ve also created several Squidoo lenses geared towards helping newbies create and perfect their own lenses. Here’s a list of some of my best work on Squidoo:
- Common Newbie Squidoo Mistakes: A list of some of the most common mistakes new lensmasters make when creating their first lenses. It’s also one of the lenses chosen to randomly appear on the Squidoo main page.
- Lens Critiques: Giving and Receiving Critiques on the SquidU Forum: Many people who are new to Squidoo ask for lens critiques from more experienced lensmasters. There are a lot of things they can do to make the whole experience easier for themselves and others.
- Commonly Misused Words in the English Language: A list of words people frequently misuse. For example, saying “bare with me” when you really mean “bear with me.”
- Conversational vs. Formal Writing: An essay about the importance of writing in a conversational way. It was featured on the Giant Squid Community Showcase on June 25th, 2008.
- Peeps or Cadbury Creme Eggs: This is a lighthearted example of a debate lens. It was a Lens of the Day pick on March 21st, 2008.
Blogs:
I also run a few blogs, two of which are dedicated to Squidoo.
- Little Squid That Could: My first Squidoo blog, which is filled with tips and advice for other Squidoo users.
- Victoria Neely’s Squidoo Diary: This is where I post a short Squidoo tip every day.
- Victoria Neely: My newest blog is dedicated to the subject of writing.
